We are excited to introduce our new Retainer Program, designed in response to valuable patient feedback. Many of our patients asked for a more affordable and convenient way to order backup retainers — and we listened.

Your retainers play a critical role in maintaining your beautiful orthodontic results. Because even a few days without retainers can allow teeth to shift, we consider retainer replacement an urgent (same-day) procedure when they are lost or damaged.

1. Same-Day Emergency Replacement (In-House)
   If your retainers become loose, lost, broken, or even chewed by a pet, we strongly recommend a same-day remake in our office to safeguard your smile and prevent relapse. Same day retainers are made in-house and require a new impression(s) and two same-day appointments.

   
   

   This same-day option ensures you are never without a properly fitting retainer — essential for protecting your orthodontic treatment results.




2. Plan Ahead and Save with Our New Multi-Retainer Program
   For patients whose current retainers show normal wear, discoloration, or deterioration (often due to bruxism or clenching), we now offer the option to pre-order multiple retainers at a discounted rate through an outside lab.

   
   

   Unlike in-house retainers, this program uses a quick digital scan (no impressions needed!) which many of our patients find more comfortable and convenient.

   
   

   Because outside lab retainers take about one week to fabricate, this program is only suitable if your current retainers still fit well and are intact. Going without retainers for a week is not safe for maintaining alignment.

   
   

   By planning ahead, you can save money, ensure you always have a spare set on hand, and avoid the stress of emergency appointments.

How Long Do Retainers Last?

On average, upper and lower clear retainers last about 2 years with proper care. However, patients who grind or clench their teeth may notice faster wear, cracking, or stretching.

Clear retainers — in addition to maintaining your beautiful, post-orthodontic treatment smile — are a comfortable, discreet alternative to bulky nightguards and can provide similar protection against tooth wear — as long as they remain intact and fit snugly.

Why Planning Ahead Matters

Even if you are not a heavy clencher or bruxer, having a backup set of retainers means you will always have a “Plan B” if something happens to your current ones. Ordering in advance through our Retainer Program lets you:
