First Visit

The first visit is the most important visit during your treatment because it is the visit that will set the course of your new smile journey. During your initial visit you will meet Dr. Morrison and the rest of our team. We will guide you to ensure that your first visit is a positive and informative one. We will gather your dental history, discuss your treatment goals, take a digital (low radiation) Panoramic x-ray, and perform a comprehensive clinical dental exam. Afterwards, Dr. Morrison will use the newly gathered information in conjunction with your input to develop a personalized treatment plan that is right for you. She will have a thorough consultation with you to discuss the diagnosis and her treatment recommendations. Dr. Morrison will review the recommended treatment plan, pertinent orthodontic appliances, the estimated treatment time as well as functional and developmental implications. We will also discuss our treatment fees, present you with payment plan options and answer any insurance related questions that you may have. Dr. Morrison is a strong proponent for individualized, patient-centric care and tailors each orthodontic treatment plan with your diagnosis, stage of development and case specific needs in mind. At times, we may recommend a re-evaluation or observation visit instead of immediate treatment onset. This will depend on the patient specific diagnosis and dental stage of development. You are encouraged to ask questions during the entire process. Our goal is to provide you with detailed and comprehensive information necessary to make the best decision. Call us to schedule your initial complimentary consultation today!

Complimentary Observation Program

We regularly monitor the growth and dental development of all of our patients free of charge. Many of our younger patients may not be dentally ready for orthodontic treatment or perhaps you have already completed the Early Phase I treatment. Our Orchard of Smiles Orthodontics team will re-evaluate each patient’s growth and development at regular time intervals to ensure there are no emerging issues and dental development & eruption are progressing smoothly. We aim to provide exceptional and comprehensive service pertaining to our patients’ present and future orthodontic needs.

Office Policies

To provide the best service and care to our patients, we see patients on an appointment basis only. Initial appointments to place your orthodontic appliances (braces, Invisalign, expanders, etc) usually take between one to two hours. Subsequently, you will schedule your routine adjustment appointments every four to eight weeks. The appointments to adjust your orthodontic appliances take approximately thirty minutes.

Please note that most of our patients are children who attend school. Although we will work diligently to ensure that you are accommodated at a convenient time, after school appointments may not always be possible. We frequently schedule longer procedural appointments during the morning and early afternoon hours. This allows us to accommodate a greater number of shorter adjustment appointments during the after school hours.

If you are running late to a scheduled appointment please let us know as soon as possible. Please make every effort to be on time for your scheduled appointment.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment please call us as soon as possible and we will do everything possible to accommodate your new appointment on a day and time that best fits your schedule. Please note that since most of our appointments are made four to six weeks in advance, there may be less flexibility to reschedule at a desirable time if you delay rescheduling.

Emergencies

If you are having an emergency, call our office and we will do our best to accommodate you or guide you through the problem until we can schedule a time to see you. Our practice is committed to supporting you along every step of your orthodontic treatment journey.

Patient Forms

Prior to your initial complimentary consultation visit, we will be emailing you your unique patient portal information. We kindly ask that you take a few minutes to fill out the patient medical history form and the Covid-19 questionnaire. We look forward to meeting you soon and being part of your smile blossoming journey!
